Being a mechanic is a vital part of the aviation world. Correct and methodical maintenance is an absolute requirement in this industry. Not just anyone can work on aircraft, the FAA requires a minimum of 2 years full time schooling or 30 consecutive months full time apprenticeship before you can even apply to take the test! After that you are required to have another consecutive 24 months of hands on experience as a licensed A&P (Airframe and Power plant) Mechanic in order to apply for the highest rating of "Inspection Authorization".
